Mission
The theme, "Modern Measurement: Focusing on Chronic Health Conditions,” rests on the logical assertion that if a condition is not measured, it cannot be managed by either care providers or the individual. The effective management of chronic conditions requires routine monitoring to detect changes that signal stability, recovery/improvement, or relapse/deterioration. Appropriate measurement is critical to determining appropriate types and levels of care over the course of conditions.
The conference hopes to attract papers and posters that address both technical and philosophical issues of importance to the field of measurement. Topics include papers that will address ways to increase precision, reduce the measurement burden on respondents, detect item bias to address health disparities, improve estimates of change, and provide efficient assessments that are comparable across the health care spectrum. Other topics may...
Additional Measurement Topics:
- Single & multi-parameter models
- Computerized adaptive testing
- Estimating change
- Detecting health disparities
- Reduce measurement burden
The conference will serve as a forum for issues of both a technical and philosophical nature that impact the efficiency and precision of patient-reported and other health outcomes.
